"In August 2009, I decided I wanted to celebrate my 40th birthday in style. So, decided I would run the London Marathon in 2011 !! Not everyone’s choice I agree.  So, guaranteed of a charity place, my next thought was training. Having done gym training before and the novelty wearing off after 6 months I needed to do something different. Yes a personal trainer.

I have been training with Nigel now for a year and the results so far have been incredible. I have lost 8kg in body fat, dropped almost 2 dress sizes, came 2nd in the Ramsey 3 lap Park Run series and knocked a whooping 17 ½ minutes off my PB for the half marathon here in the north of the island.

Training sessions are full of variety; I have never had 2 sessions the same.  Nigel is really encouraging and inspirational. He is able to push you to limits you never knew you were possible of.

Going to the Gym for me has been a 6-month fad in the past, but having Nigel as my personal trainer has been life changing from the way I train to what I eat and how I eat. "Nigel is a fantastic trainer and would highly recommend his services over any other trainer on the Isle of Man.  I have had a few personal trainers in the past and he is by far the best.  Bit of background: I was a 20 a day smoker who didn't do much and ate terribly and worked an office job.  Once I'd made the decision to get healthy, I came across Nigel's ad, and found the concept of "bringing the gym to you" brilliant.  You have absolutely no excuse saying that "you're too tired", "the gym will be full", "oh i'll go tomorrow" and so on... he's there, knocking on your door ready to go at 7am and has all the equipment necessary.

He has a great approach and focuses on the clients' needs first and foremost.  He is also a consistent and good motivator and is especially focused on ensuring that you achieve your goals. He will work with you in the best way possible to reach them, whether they be to get fit, lose weight, tone or bulk up and get ripped.

Now, bear in mind, there's no magic pill, it takes hard work, sweat and some determination on your part, and Nigel is there to motivate, guide and push you to get those results.  It's not often that you find a trainer willing to go running with you in the pouring rain, freezing cold at 7am in the morning.

In terms of what Nigel helped me achieve, here's a brief overview:

FITNESS:
From beginning of training, could not run to the bottom end of the street (say 400/500 metres) without nearly collapsing.  4 months later - running nearly 8 kilometres in an hour (with no breaks).

WEIGHT LOSS:
I had to start slow, but a few months later I had lost 6.1 kilograms of body fat and in its place put on some more muscle.

SIZE LOSS:
Noticed a marked increase (or decrease ;)) in tone - especially in problem areas such as arms, back & abs, so definitely helped me to tone up.

So to anyone, male or female, bad shape or even decent shape - I'd highly recommend Nigel to be your personal trainer."

We hired Nigel over the summer holidays and were amazed at how much we achieved in 5 weeks both in terms of fitness levels and change in our body shape.

 

Prior to hiring Nigel, we were really struggling with our motivation to get fit. It was becoming much harder to get motivated to get fit and into shape as we were a bit 'on the wrong side of 21!’ As a last resort, we thought we would choose a personal trainer, which we had never done before, and decided to go with Nigel.

 

Since hiring Nigel, the results have been brilliant. Nigel is a really good personal trainer and really motivates and encourages you.  Initially I was sceptical about how interval training at home would get you fit, but I have achieved better results than in the gym! His programmes are really good and more importantly, are achievable. Yes, you have to put some effort in, but the results are so worth it.  Nigel can design programmes to be followed every day either at home or at the gym (I prefer the gym but my friend dislikes the gym, preferring swimming and walking), and so you don’t get bored, changes the programmes every week.

 

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Nigel. If you're thinking of hiring him - “Just do it!”.

“I've always struggled with my weight from a very young age. Numerous times over the years I tried to shift the pounds but to no avail. Around a year ago I decided I was sick and tired of being morbidly obese. I decided to play my hand at fad diets. I did manage to lose some weight however I fell off the wagon numerous times not feeling driven nor excited by the diets I was undertaking. Although the training sessions are hard and push you to your limits to help achieve your goals, you don’t feel too regimented you can have a laugh and a joke with Nigel as he keeps you upbeat throughout the entire hour.
