8. Machine-free workout: Not only do machines fail to fit every body & can be hard to adjust, machines also fail to build as much balance and coordination. They can also put your body in a bad range of motion. Research has shown that free weights promote quicker strength gains and they require more balance and coordination than machines. Free weights recruit more muscle groups than variable resistance machines, which tend to only isolate specific muscles.
